The Inspiring Pumpkin...

A lady had recently been baptized. One of her co-workers
asked her what it was like to be a Christian. She was
caught off guard and didn't know how to answer; but when she looked up, saw a jack-o'-lantern on the desk
and answered:

"It's like being a pumpkin."

The coworker asked her to explain that one.

"Well, God picks you from the patch and brings you in
and washes off all the dirt on the outside that you
got from being around all the other pumpkins. Then he
cuts off the top and takes all the yucky stuff out from inside.

He removes all those seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then he carves you a new smiling face and puts His
light inside of you to shine for all to see. "It is our
choice to either stay outside and rot on the vine or
come inside and be something new and bright."

Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.

The first one said, “Oh, my it’s getting late!”

The second one said, “Fall is in the air.”

The third one said, “We don’t care!”

The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run.”

The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun!”



Then whoosh went the wind and out went the lights!

And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

Pumpkin Prayer

Cut off the top:

Lord, open my mind and fill me with Your wisdom and guidance.



Scoop out the yuckies:

Lord, take out all my fussies and frownies and fill me with Your love.



Carve out the eyes:

Lord, open my eyes to see all of the beautiful things You have made.



Carve out the nose:

Lord, help me to be a sweet fragrance for You.



Carve out the mouth:

Lord, help me to always speak Your words of love and kindness.



Place in a candle:

Lord, let me be a light to others
for You have filled me with Your light.

Pumpkins & Jesus

P is for the people that Jesus came to save
U is for the unconditional love to each one He gave
M is for the message that we should all be sharing
P is for the priceless gift God above showed he is caring
K is for the King of Kings

I is for insight He brings
N is for the nails in His hands
S is for our Savior who gave His life so that we could stand.
So when you see a pumpkin don't think about some guy named Jack.

Instead remember Jesus Christ, Lord of Lords, who is one day coming back.
