From Heather Lee to the North Norfolk News

Dear Terry

Please can you include this letter in the North Norfolk News for me.

I would like to thank everyone who organised my surprise party in Gimingham Village Hall on August 8th following the closure of Gimingham Post Office which I ran for over 15 years in my home.
Also many many thanks for the beautiful engraved lead crystal vase, flowers, cards, cheque, cash and cake. It was a lovely surprise for me and it was lovely to see so many people there. Once again many thanks to all.

Heather Lee
Former Postmistress

The surprise party was the brain child of Maggie Thurston, Pauline Ward, Sharon Etches, Jill Burford & Dr Burford.
We designed cards and each took at patch in the village to ask for donations to Heather's closing down gift. We were astounded at the amount of donations people in the village were willing to give. Even though most could not attend due to commitments elsewhere on that evening, it didnt stop them wanting to partcipate in a donation or of signing the 4 cards circling the village.
Dr Roger Burford iced the cake that his wife Jill (who is well known for her delicious treats) made for Heather.
Only 3 members of the Gimingham Parish Councils turned up, Alan Gotts, Zoe Gotts and Daniel Gotts, even Gareth Gotts came too, the others made NO apologises.

Heather had a wonderful time, and a brilliant hangover the next morning......lol
